Rating Scale questions allow respondents to rate a particular issue/topic
on a numeric scale or range. To select answer, respondents click a circle
above the desired scale rating.
Best used when:
- Information on how respondents perceive a particular thing, person, or event is sought
Advantages:
- Labeled anchors on both ends of the scale
- Customizable anchor text
- Choice between shorter scale (1 to 5) or longer scale (5-10)
Limitations:
- Yields only close-ended data
- No ranking data
- Respondents select only one answer
